Biography

Amitabh Pal has a Master’s in Journalism from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a Master’s in Political Science, specializing in International Relations/Comparative Politics, from North Carolina State University. He did his undergraduate in India, double majoring in Geology and Chemistry. Pal has worked in the journalism and nonprofit fields and has taught courses at Madison-area colleges (Edgewood College, University of Wisconsin, Madison College) for the past couple of decades. He's the author of "Islam" Means Peace: Understanding the Muslim Principle of Nonviolence Today (Praeger, 2011) and is writing a book on global populism. Pal has appeared on C-SPAN and BBC and television and radio stations all over the United States and abroad. His articles have been published in school and college textbooks in the United States and Australia. He reads voraciously, loves watching movies from around the world, can be persuaded to travel anywhere anytime, and plays squash for fitness.
